CRITERIA FOR REGISTRATION MEMBERSHIP / HOW TO JOIN

UNITED PET PIG REGISTRY™ IS FOR THE PET PIG. IT IS NOT A BREEDING REGISTRY
AND IS NOT OPEN TO PIGS USED FOR BREEDING PURPOSES

CRITERIA FOR REGISTRATION

MALE PET PIGS:
All male pigs must be neutered.*

* The only exception to this rule is a vets written statement.

A waiver from the Registry will be issued in writing AFTER a personal investigation.

FEMALE PET PIGS:
Female pigs under 8 months must be spayed. Unspayed females have a high risk later in life of getting uterine tumors etc., so spaying is a health issue along with a pet issue.

Because of the risk to older pigs, females above that age are not required to be spayed but cannot be used for breeding purposes and must be a pet pig.**

**Weigh the risk carefully of not having a female spayed at an younger age vs the tumor problem that is prevalent in their old age. Sometimes its better to risk the spay surgery at the age of three or four than the tumor surgery at the age of ten.

Please Note: Should any unspayed or unaltered pig registered with United Pet Pig Registry as a companion pet pig reproduce, the registration is void and membership will be cancelled immediately.

REGISTRATION BENEFITS:
With the United Pet Pig Registry™ Membership you will receive a beautiful official UPPR™ Certificate of membership with a 'pigture' of your pet pig on the Certificate.

This certificate can be shown to local authorities as proof that your pig is a non-breeding pig and is registered as a pet.

You will also receive the UPPR Newsletters throughout the year. The newsletter is filled with updates on pet pigs across the country, Health topics, Nutritional updates, pet pig stories, pictures, overall care of pet pigs and much more.

We are also available for guidance, tips and emergencies concerning your pet pig.

You can also bring your pig to the various UPPR™ Shows. Your pet can collect points towards permanent championship.

There are also UPPR™ 'Pignics' all over the country which you can attend with your pet pig(s).

HOW TO REGISTER YOUR PET PIG(S) /
HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER OF UPPR

Print out our Mail In Registration Form, fill it out, and mail it into us. All needed information is on the form.

We put a picture of your pet pig on the registration certificate (example) so if you could, please either include a picture when you send in your form, or you can E-mail us a picture to register@upprs.com.

Don't have a pet pig yet? You can still become a member of UPPR and help support our work. You do not need to have a pet pig in order to become a member.

REGISTRATION COSTS:

Registration cost is $15.00 for your first pet pig and $7.50 for each additional pet pig. Registration term is for one year.

If you wish to register another pet pig(s) after your initial registration, the registration cost will be $7.50 per pet.

Yearly registration renewal cost is a flat $15.00. This will cover all of your pet pigs that you have registered.
