UNITED PET PIG REGISTRY™ ORIGINS AND PHILOSOPHY At the time the idea for the United Pet Pig Registry™ was formed, I was a judge for a breeder registry. Many of these wonderful pet pot belly pigs were not allowed to show in the same classes as those pot bellied pigs that had traceable lineage. To me, pet pigs were the MOST important pigs out there because they were PETS. What could be more important than an animal that we take into our lives to become part of our family? I felt that there should be an organization that recognized all pet pigs. This organization would offer registration and shows that awarded points and permanent championships. The only criteria would be that they be a PET PIG and not used for reproduction. I voiced this to a few people and "Presto", United Pet Pig Registry™ (UPPR™) was born in March of 1998. We wanted an organization that truly put the pet pigs and their welfare first and that could offer help and guidance to pet pig owners through all stages of the pets life. The criteria we wanted for UPPR was:

UNITED PET PIG REGISTRY™ GOALS The purpose of the United Pet Pig Registry™ is to help the pet pig owner throughout the life of their companion pet. We hope to accomplish this by helping the pet pig owner:
As an organization formed for the PET PIG, we differ from the other national organizations as the Registry is for the pet pig who is NOT a breeding animal.
