United Pet Pig Registry is happy to announce that we have made available to our members TWO NEW CLASSES at the UPPR Shows. Our Show Champions now have a new challenge before them if they choose to take advantage of it. While these champions are as always invited to show in the regular UPPR Shows under the Champions Only class, the Champions Challenge at the end of the day and our famous "Walk on the Wild Side" class, we thought they deserve and need more. VERSATILITY CHAMPIONS CLASS We have added a Versatility Champions Class that is open to ONLY those pigs that have completed their championship in the regular UPPR Show. It is definitely a challenge to say the least, involving obedience. Very tough for the average pig to do. This is a timed class and involves heeling, sit, stay and recalling the pig without a lead or treat. This class will be judged on completion of every exercise within a five (5) minute time frame and accuracy of each exercise. Each pig completing the course in the allotted time of five (5) minutes will receive one leg toward the new Versatility Championship title. It requires four (4) legs to become champion. First place winners will be determined by time and accuracy on the course. OBSTACLE COURSE CHAMPIONSHIP The second new class is an open class that anyone can enter and is the Obstacle Course Championship. This class is all obstacles that you might find in any obstacle class. Seesaw, plank, tunnel, water trough, curtain and weaving through the four cones. Pigs need not be a regular UPPR Champion to participate in this event. All pigs entered in the regular show are welcome to give it a try. This will be judged on accuracy and will be timed also. Pigs must complete all elements in a five (5) minute time frame to earn one leg toward the Obstacle Course Championship. Pigs in this class will be judged on or off lead at your discretion, but pigs on lead will have six seconds added to their time during the course. This championship also requires four (4) legs to complete. SUPREME CHAMPION Since we plan on having our pet pig champions, versatility champions and obstacle champions we decided that for those that complete all three championships the pig will be designated a "Supreme Champion". That title will be added to the pigs UPPR registration papers upon completion of all criteria. We feel that as our regular shows offer fun and learning for the pet pigs that stay in our homes that there is also a group of pig owners that enjoy training the pig beyond what we expect on a daily basis. There is a difference between a "pet" pig and a trained pet pig and it wouldn't be fair to put our pets only in the same type of situations that a trained pig knows. Therefore we felt that this will offer the most of the best for everyone who enjoys their pigs and enjoys working with them. SO JOIN IN THE FUN AND LET'S GET THOSE PETS OUT THERE TO SHOW WHAT THEY CAN ACCOMPLISH. Phyllis Battoe Show
