Versatility Champion Class

This class is for United Pet Pig Registry Pet Pigs that have COMPLETED the requirements for Champion Status.

Show Classes / Show Rules | Champion Classes | Judges
Judging The Pet Pig | Obstacle Course Champion | Pictures Of Previous Shows

All exercises are to be completed OFF THE LEASH and NO TREATS to be used until the judge tells you that you are excused.

Classes will be judged on the following:

  • Completion of all exercises within a (5) FIVE MINUTE time period.
  • Accuracy of all exercises.
  • Ability of pet pig to timely respond.
  • Control of the handler.

UPPR™ Pet Pigs will need (4) FOUR LEGS to complete the Versatility Champion Title.

All pet pigs that complete the exercise within the allotted time of (5) FIVE MINUTES will receive a leg toward that championship.

There will be a ribbon for all pigs that complete all exercises correctly in the allotted time plus they will receive (1) ONE LEG toward the championship, but only the pig with the best and least flawed performance will receive a first place plaque and ribbon.

Upon completion of all (4) FOUR LEGS toward the title of VERSATILITY CHAMPION, UPPR will re-issue your registration certificate with the title 'VERSATILITY CHAMPION' after your pet pigs name.

Versatility Points

HEEL (5 Points)
Walk your pet pig into the ring and wait for the judge to tell you to start.
Your pet pig must walk at your left side for (5) five steps then make a left turn and continue on for (5) five more steps then stop and sit by your left side.

HEEL (Second Half) (5 Points)
Standing with your pet pig on the left hand side at a sit position give the heel command and walk in a figure eight around two cones spaced (5) five feet apart then stop and have your pet pig sit at your left side in a heel position.

Versatility Points Continued

SIT AND STAY (5 Points)
With your pet pig sitting in the heel position, give the stay command and walk straight out from you pet pigs head a full (5) five steps, turn and face the sitting pig.

Once you have turned to face the pet pig the pig must remain in the sitting position for at least (5) five seconds.

When the judge tells you (5) five seconds are up, move to the next exercise from the position you are in.

RECALL AND PIROUETTE (5 Points)
With your pet pig still in the sit stay position call your pet pig to you.

Your pet pig is to come to you in a timely way and complete (1) one complete pirouette in front of you, then only after you give the heel command should your pet pig return to the heel position at your left side and sit.

At this point wait for the judge to say you are excused and you may leave the ring.

Tie breakers for this event may include, but not limited to:

  • Weave through a line of people at heel.
  • Sit and stay with other pigs walking in front of them.
  • About face from walking a straight line which means sudden reversal of direction with pig at heel position.
  • A stand for examination, pig is to stand steady next to owner and allow judge to run their hand on the head and down the back to the tail.
